PTFE CABLE
Applications:
PTFE’s significant chemical, temperature, moisture, and electrical resistances make it an ideal material whenever products, tools, and components need to be durable and reliable in even the most strenuous applications. On top of this, PTFE coated wire boasts unique low-temperature durability and fire resistance that make it a good choice for a constantly growing list of products, components, and applications.
These qualities have allowed PWI to provide insulated PTFE wire for an extensive range of high tech industries across the country. While PTFE coated wire is often referred to by it's most popular brand-name, Phoenix Wire has made it our specialty to start where most other companies stop, and provide PTFE insulated wire not only in all standard sizes, but in a range of micro and miniature sizes that continue to enable innovation in even the most advanced industries.
Decription:
PTFE Insulated wires and cables with Solid conductor (sizes AWG 32 to AWG 18) and stranded perfectly round conductor constructions like 7, 19, 37 and 133 strands. Available sizes in multi-strand construction are from AWG 26 to AWG 00.
Insulation Type
There are three types of standard insulations known as “ET” (250V AC), “E” (600V AC) and “EE” (1000V AC).
Type “ET” or 250V Insulation is a good choice for low voltage application. Mainly used for electronics, signals and data transmission. This insulation Type is advisable for small cross sectional area conductors only with Minimum Insulation thickness 0.15mm + 0.05mm. Thin insulation makes this Type very sophisticated for use. Available size for this insulation category: AWG 32 to AWG 20.
Type “E” or 600V is the most common insulation type for various electronics and electrical applications with Minimum insulation thickness 0.25mm + 0.05mm providing good Dielectric properties. Available size for this insulation category: AWG 32 to AWG 10.
Type “EE” or 1000V offers good electrical and good mechanical protection with a minimum insulation thickness of 0.35 mm + 0.05mm. More insulation thickness is advisable for conductors having higher cross sectional area. This insulation type provide better dielectric properties to wires and cables. In this category, all sizes can be included.
