PFA CABLE
Applications:
PFA Insulated Cable and Wire is excellent for high temperature applications. PFA insulation can withstand operating temperatures up to 260° Celsius, and has superior mechanical strength at high temperatures as compared to FEP insulation. It exhibits excellent low-temperature toughness. PFA insulated wire and cable is also used in applications requiring a chemical resistant wire and cable. PFA insulation is inert when exposed to most industrial solvents and chemicals. PFA insulation retains its useful properties in temperatures ranging from –200° C to +260° C. At Dacon Systems, we can custom manufacture PFA thin wall wire insulation and heavy wall wire insulation and cable jackets to meet the requirements of your specific application. Dimensions that we can manufacture range from AWG 40 to AWG 2/0. The minimum order is generally 1000 ft.
Description:
PerFluoroAlkoxy (PFA) offers similar properties to FEP, but is considered more of a premium resin. PFA is preferred when extended service is required in hostile environments involving chemical, thermal, and mechanical stress. PFA offers high melt strength, stability at high processing temperatures, excellent crack and stress resistance, a low coefficient of friction, and more than 10 times the Flex life of FEP.
It has high resistance to creep and retention of properties after service at 500°F (260°C), with useful properties at -320°F (95°C). PFA also meets FDA 21CFR.177.1550.
PFA is used in the same types of applications as those listed above for FEP.
